Just a believer in Jesus Christ trying to Walk in the Narrow Way. My thoughts are mine, not influenced by Bible courses or commentaries, just what I read from the Bible. I use the New American Standard Bible and the English Standard Version in my studies and will generally use one of them when I quote the Bible in my posts. If I post from a different version, I'll try to remember to post which version.

I currently serve as an elder for the West College and Third Church of Christ in Lockney, TX. I've been an elder for four years after serving as a deacon for 10 years. As we do not currently have a minister, I have the opportunity to preach at least once a month. I also lead singing on a regular basis.

I retired from public education in December of 2011 after 25 years. I was a computer science and journalism teacher prior to becoming a technology director. I'm currently enjoying being the "house husband" while my wife works, but I'm interested in finding something part-time.

My personal interest include my family, sports and technology. We have three wonderful, grown children, two great sons-in-law, two beautiful grand daughters and a third one on the way in July. I enjoy high school sports and Texas Tech athletics. Football is my sport of choice. During football season, I am part of the broadcast team for Plainview High School football and also work with a high school scoreboard show that airs on Friday nights and of course, attend Texas Tech home football games on Saturdays (the hardest part of these games is that I'm either preaching or leading singing so I can't cheer as loud as I would like to because I have to have a voice for Sunday mornings!).

My desire for this blog is that I will grow in my knowledge and understanding of the word of God and if someone else benefits from my thoughts, I will feel very humble that I've helped them in their walk with God.
